an e-commerce Christmas

Christmas. It's such a magical time of year!...

It's also the time of year of increased sales (we do love running those end of year reports!).

With many people unable to spend their hard-earned pennies on travel, Christmas this year is likely to be BIG. It’s literally just around the corner now, but if you’re behind on getting organised it’s not too late!

What can you do to get those last-minute sales through the door? Here are a few ideas which will help you elevate your results. Without breaking the bank.

1. Christmas Incentives

With so many people looking online to buy, make sure you're doing everything you can to get them over the line. One great way of doing this is to incentivise the purchase. Whether that's free shipping or some kind of giveaway for every purchase over a certain value, don't lose those people who come to you just because they can get a better deal from one of your competitors.

BIG TIP: Buy Now Pay Later is your BFF. At this time of year especially, people are looking for ways to delay the cost. Don’t forget to mention it in your ads and on your product pages!

2. Christmas Competitions

Competitions may not be a way of increasing sales, but they're an ideal way to boost results in other areas. At this time of year, people are looking for ways to cut down on their costs, which is probably why competitions work so well. We love

3. Christmas Countdown

It's not too late to start a Christmas Countdown! Start NOW and have some fun with it. We love Sephora's 12 Days of Gifting. What a fun way to help customers find the perfect present for their family and friends!

4. Social Media Advertising

You simply cannot (can NOT) expect to sell more this Christmas without using social media advertising. With so many brands competing for your buyer's attention, you'll be lost in the noise if you don't invest budget in this area of your social media strategy. We recommend planning a range of different ad types for your campaign. Use video if possible, and don't forget to run regular reports to see which ads are performing best. Change the underperformers, or switch them off. You don't have time for wasted budget!

5. Christmas Packs

While the clock is ticking, if you’ve got any way of pulling together a last-minute gift idea, this is an excellent way to help out those time-poor shoppers who are looking for that perfect gift for their loved ones. Don't forget to include them in your Christmas Ad Campaign and direct them back to your website for a direct sale.

6. Christmas Content

And last but not least, don’t forget about your content! Yes, it's time to get #Festive. Tinsel up your office. Sparkle up your products. Put some reindeer ears on the office dog! Blog about it, post about it, share a story of five… Whatever you do, just make sure you don't stop at just one bauble. After all, it's the season to be jolly!

Summary

Christmas doesn't need to be complicated or expensive. In fact, some of the best ideas are often the simplest ones. Really start to think about what your audience is looking for at this time of year and you're well on your way. Once the silly season is over you can kick back with a huge glass of wine and give yourself a pat on the back (and maybe buy yourself a little gift).
